Kite surfing in Hua Hin
Maybe not on everyone’s Hua Hin attraction list, it’s definitely worth walking down to the beach to check it out.
When it’s kitesurfing season, October to May, the beach landscape comes alive with the moving arches of the kites. It’s quite a view and fun to watch. Take some pics. Go for a walk. See some jellyfish washed up on the shore and then head to one of the beachfront restaurants for a light lunch.
If you’re interested in trying kitesurfing during your visit to Hua Hin, there are some great kitesurfing schools. There are two main ones in Hua Hin and both are similar in price and reputation. You’ll need about 3-4 lessons before you can head out by yourself. Both schools also offer kids classes.

History in Hua Hin
There’s an interesting history in Hua Hin that will add more to your experience and understanding of Thai culture. The royal family call Hua Hin home during summer. Their current summer residence is located in Hua Hin. This one is closed to the public, but there is one palace that is no longer used by the royal family and is open to the public.
Palaces in Hua Hin
Mrigadaygavan Palace should be on everyone’s Hua Hin to see and do list and is definitely an attraction worth visiting in 2019. It’s located along the coast and a relatively quiet spot to sightsee in and learn about Thai culture, history and the royal family.
The palace itself is one of the longest teak buildings in the world. It was designed by the king who brought in an Italian architect to complete the designs. The king was also a poet and had an area where he would write in the palace.
You can also take a seat in their cafe and enjoy a casual high tea experience with Thai sweets as you look out to the manicured gardens and ocean in the distance.

Phraya Nakon Cave
For an adventurous day trip from Hua Hin, check out Phraya Nakhon Cave. It’s a must-see attraction in Hua Hin and is a natural treasure. Located 60km south of Hua Hin, through forest and across beaches, arrive in a mystical cave and catch the morning sun streaming down and shining on an architectural delight.
